The concept of manifesting is based on the belief that each and every one of us has the ability to will or 'manifest' anything we desire into our lives. In other words, manifesting is all about taking the goals, dreams, and desires that exist within our minds and transforming them into something that is real and tangible - enabling us to take control of our lives instead of just leaving it to chance or fate. It is a concept that has attracted much interest and new impetus in recent times - no doubt due in part to the dire and desperate circumstance which seem to blight the lives of so many in this modern world of ours. Those who teach manifesting techniques seem to take as their starting point a so-called universal law known as The Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction appears to have its origins in the metaphysical beliefs of those who subscribe to a branch of philosophy known as the New Thought Movement which evolved during the period 1904-1910. The expression was used directly and repeatedly by Napoleon Hill in his book The Law of Success in 16 Lessons published in 1928; and many believe that the Law of Attraction was the un-named 'secret to success' referred to in his classic Think and Grow Rich (published in 1937), which went on to become one of the best-selling books of all time, selling over 60 million copies. Basically, the Law
of Attraction states that "like
attracts like", and tells us that
positive thinking will bring about positive results in the real
physical world, whereas negative thinking will produce negative results. So the theory behind the Law of Attraction has been around for a very long time, but it was the release of the blockbuster movie The Secret in 2006 that brought it into the media spotlight. The film, which was based on the book of the same name by Rhonda Byrne, featured a multitude of Law of Attraction teachers, some of whom were subsequently invited to appear on the most popular chat shows to talk about the movie and the Law of Attraction itself. To say that the teachings of the Law of Attraction are controversial is a massive understatement - with many regarding it as totally bizarre and irrational. Even its most ardent proponents readily admit that putting the theory into practice takes a lot of hard work - one of the problems being that negative and limiting beliefs are buried deep in our subconscious, and ridding ourselves of these is usually a difficult and daunting task. Whatever the reason, there is no doubt that the vast majority of people struggle when it comes to making the Law of Attraction work for them. There are literally tens of thousands of people around the globe who are trying to fill their lives with abundance using its techniques - but only a relatively small proportion have been successful in changing their lives for the better. Many of those who teach and advocate the Law of Attraction dismiss this by claiming that people are using manifesting techniques that simply aren't good enough to truly activate the Law of Attraction, or that they are not correctly applying the rules found within The Secret. However, an increasing number are now claiming that the Law of Attraction itself is incomplete, and that other resources may also need to be brought into play, before it can realise its full potential. |

Best-selling author Joe Vitale, who was one of the stars of The Secret film, believes that in order to generate consistently positive results from the Law of Attraction, you need to be aware of another missing secret which will tie it all together for you. In The
Missing Secret
Joe shows you how to take this "missing" piece of the jigsaw and use it
to bring health, wealth, love, and all the other things that you desire
into your life. He explains why the Law of Attraction
doesn't always work the way that we expect it to - and why it sometimes
seems to
'attract' things which are the exact opposite of those that we
consciously desire. Joe shows what to do to remedy these situations, and how to ensure that the Law of Attraction works for you, and NOT against you, on a consistent basis. He stresses the importance of identifying and eliminating the subconscious beliefs and limiting thoughts that bring negative experiences into our lives. Joe Vitale is the author of a number of hugely popular life-changing "abundance" programs including:
Dr Wayne Dyer is another well-known and popular author who believes that we all have the power to manifest our own desires. In his ground-breaking audio program, entitled The Secrets to Manifesting Your Destiny, he reveals the ancient 20-minute technique that enables you to create anything that you want in life. Brian Tracy is a prolific author and an accomplished speaker who specialises in the subjects of personal and professional development. In The Universal Laws of Success and Achievement, Brian teaches (amongst many other things) how to use the Law of Attraction to bring about circumstances that are in harmony with your dominant thoughts.Marci Schimoff is one of the best-selling authors of all time in the self-help niche - her six titles in the series Chicken Soup for the Soul having sold more than 13 million copies worldwide. Marci was one of the teachers featured in the DVD version of the film The Secret - and in her course entitled Happy For No Reason she shares with us her own very powerful 'secret' to the Law of Attraction. Bob Proctor - who was another of the key figures in the film - believes that there are no fewer than 11 forgotten laws which need to be heeded in order to activate the Law of Attraction's full potential. While Thomas Leonard, who founded Coachville the world's largest association for Personal Development and Corporate Coaches, developed a programme called The 28 Laws of Attraction. This teaches us how to design and live the ultimate life that we were meant to live - a life in which opportunities and success start to find us without constantly having to chase after them.
